1. Our Purpose
Memory Leaf exists to give families a permanent, private, and respectful home for their shared history. These Community Guidelines apply to all content and interactions on the Platform, including posts, comments, messages, family tree entries, and memorial profiles.
2. Core Community Values
- Respect: Treat every family member — living or remembered — with dignity.
- Privacy: Only share content you have the right and permission to share.
- Authenticity: Represent yourself and your relationships honestly.
- Preservation: Contribute content meant to be cherished for generations.
3. Expected Behavior
- Obtain consent before posting photos or videos of other family members, especially minors.
- Use accurate information when building family tree entries.
- Keep memorial profiles respectful and free of disputes; resolve disagreements privately or through Memory Leaf support.
- Report content that violates these guidelines rather than escalating conflict within the family group.
4. Zero-Tolerance Violations
The following are strictly prohibited on Memory Leaf and will result in immediate content removal and possible account termination:
- ⛔ Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content endangering minors
- ⛔ Harassment, threats, or bullying of any family or community member
- ⛔ Hate speech or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
- ⛔ Impersonation of a living or deceased individual without authorization
- ⛔ Non-consensual sharing of intimate images
- ⛔ Uploading malware, spam, or content designed to compromise account security
- ⛔ Exploiting memorial profiles for commercial solicitation or fraud
5. Memorial & Sensitive Content Guidelines
Memorial profiles honoring deceased loved ones or pets must be created and managed only by an authorized family administrator. Content posted to memorial profiles should be respectful and celebratory in nature. Disputes over memorial profile management should be directed to Memory Leaf support for mediation.
6. Anonymous Posting Guidelines
Branch tier and above unlocks anonymous posting within your private family group. Anonymous posting is intended for sensitive family updates or heartfelt messages — not for harassment or evading accountability. Anonymous posts remain subject to all Community Guidelines and may be reviewed by Memory Leaf in response to a valid report.
7. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content that violates these guidelines, use the in-app "Report" function or email [trust@memoryleaf.com]. Reports are reviewed by our trust & safety team, and we aim to respond within [48 hours].
8. Enforcement & Appeals
Violations may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on severity. Users may appeal enforcement decisions by contacting [appeals@memoryleaf.com] within 30 days of the action.
